STAAR Blitz

At Rusk Intermediate, we believe that getting ready for the STAAR test doesn’t have to be boring, stressful, or filled with groans and yawns — nope! Around here, it’s a full-on BLITZ... the STAAR Blitz! And trust us, it's anything but ordinary.

Every year, we kick off STAAR prep with a fun, creative theme to fire up our students and turn “test practice” into something you actually look forward to. We’ve had:

• The Crush It Challenge – Students earned Crush sodas for crushing their goals (and their practice questions). Because nothing says motivation like a fizzy reward and a teacher yelling, “YOU CRUSHED IT!” down the hallway.
• The Big Dill – Yes, we went full pickle mode. Pickle-flavored treats, “You’re kind of a big DILL” stickers, and more dill-icious surprises for students who gave it their all. Who knew cucumbers could be this inspiring?

Each day of STAAR Blitz is filled with team challenges, goofy games, classroom competitions, and tons of encouragement. Teachers are hyping, music is playing, and students are out there giving it 100%, because at RIS, we know how to make hard work FUN.

We’re not just proud of our students — we’re absolutely blown away by the focus, effort, and heart they put into preparing for success. And we make sure they know it every step of the way.

So no STAAR fear here — just Eagle power, silly snacks, and a whole lot of school spirit. Let’s blitz, let’s boogie, and let’s show that STAAR who’s boss!
