RIS Family Picnic & Dance Fest — Where Food, Family & Funky Moves Come Together!
At Rusk Intermediate, we believe in three things: family, fun, and bustin’ a move and our Annual Family Picnic & Dance Fest brings all of that together in one joyful, toe-tappin’, heartwarming event you won’t forget!
Each spring, we open up the playground and invite families of RIS to join us for an afternoon of sunshine, music, and connection. Bring a blanket, pack a lunch (or grab a bite from the concession stand!), and enjoy good company under the Texas sky.
But that’s just the appetizer…
Because once everyone’s full and feeling the love, it’s time for the Dance Fest and trust us, these kids have been practicing.
Each class takes the stage to show off a special routine they’ve been working on. We’re talkin’ jazz hands, synchronized steps, and the kind of confident shimmy that only comes from dancing with your friends in front of your favorite people. And don’t be surprised if a teacher joins in.
It’s peaceful. It’s joyful. It’s full of laughs and “aww” moments. And more than anything, it’s a beautiful reminder that RIS is more than just a school, we’re a family.
So whether you're clapping along, dancing in the grass, or just soaking it all in with a smile on your face, the RIS Family Picnic & Dance Fest is a celebration of everything we love: our students, our families, and the connections that make this community so special.
