Intermediate Book Fair

Book Fair Magic at Rusk Intermediate — Where Literacy Meets Nostalgia (and Maybe a Poster of a Kitten in Sunglasses)

There’s something special in the air every fall at Rusk Intermediate and no, it’s not just the smell of sharpened pencils and pumpkin spice hand sanitizer. It’s Book Fair Season!

Each year, we host a Scholastic Book Fair, transforming our library into a magical marketplace of stories, adventure, and childhood dreams. (Seriously, if you didn’t spend way too long deciding between a chapter book, a scented eraser, or a giant pointer finger... did you even book fair?)

But don’t let the fun fool you , this event is all about literacy love. We believe that putting the right book into a student’s hands can open up a whole new world. Whether they’re into mysteries, graphic novels, silly facts, or magical lands filled with dragons and snacks, there’s a book fair book for everyone and that’s what makes it so powerful.

Our students light up when they walk in because this isn’t just shopping. It’s independence, it’s choice, and it’s a moment when reading feels cool, exciting, and personal. It’s the kind of event they’ll remember when they’re older, a little hit of nostalgia wrapped in shiny book covers and posters with motivational quotes.

And yes, we fully admit it: we adults love it just as much as the kids. Who can resist the charm of flipping through books, bonding over favorites, and whispering, “Ooooh, I remember THIS one!” like it’s a literary treasure hunt?

So whether you're searching for your next favorite read or just in it for the smelly bookmarks, our Fall Book Fairs are all about celebrating the joy of reading, with a few laughs and maybe a pencil sharpener shaped like a taco along the way
