Field Trips
RIS Field Trips — Where Learning Leaps Off the Page and Into Real Life!
At Rusk Intermediate, field trips aren’t just a break from class — they’re a chance to dive headfirst into learning adventures all across East Texas! From the roar of the zoo (yes, the monkeys are still the biggest distractions) to the awe of museums, the wonder of the planetarium, and even visits to local colleges, our students get to experience education in full 3D.
These trips bring classroom lessons to life in the coolest ways possible:
- Watching animals up close (and maybe practicing your best lion roar)
- Exploring history, art, and science with hands-on exhibits that make textbooks jealous
- Gazing at stars and planets while dreaming about being the next big astronaut or scientist
- Touring colleges to get inspired about the future — because every Eagle should know that the sky’s the limit!
Plus, field trips are a sneaky way to get extra steps in, bond with classmates, and show off your “Did you know?” facts (you know, the ones that sound way cooler when you say them after visiting the real thing).
We plan each adventure with learning front and center, making sure students come back with brains full of knowledge and memories that make them smile. Because at RIS, the best kind of learning is the kind you can see, touch, and maybe even hear (looking at you, zoo animals!).
So pack your curiosity (and maybe a comfy pair of shoes)—with RIS, every field trip is a chance to explore, discover, and have a little fun along the way!
