Canned Food Drive
Rusk FFA’s Annual Canned Food Drive – Cans, Competition & Community!
Every year, Rusk ISD rolls up its sleeves and gets serious about... canned goods. That’s right — it’s time for our Annual Canned Food Drive, and trust us, this is not your average “bring a can or two” kind of event.
This is a full-on, district-wide friendly competition (okay, maybe a little intense) where Rusk schools compete against each other — and even take on another district — to fill up the legendary FFA stock trailer with non-perishable food items for the Good Samaritan. And we’re not just trying to win… we’re trying to make a real difference.
Here’s how it works:
- Bring in canned and non-perishable food items — the more the better!
- Watch as the FFA stock trailer starts to FILL UP with the generosity of our students, families, and staff.
- Compete for bragging rights, school pride, and maybe a shout-out or two from a very proud principal.
- Come together as a community to support local families in need during the holiday season.
It’s fun. It’s competitive. It’s a little noisy (there’s always someone rattling cans in a box like a maraca). But most importantly, it’s impactful. Every can donated helps someone in our own community — someone’s neighbor, classmate, or grandparent.
At Rusk ISD, we believe in hearts as big as our school spirit, and nothing shows that better than when we all work together — one can at a time — to make a difference.
So bring the beans, bring the corn, bring that random can of peaches from the back of your pantry. Let’s fill that trailer and show everyone what Rusk pride really looks like!
